In 2020, Boho was commissioned by Canberra Theatre Centre and Where You Are Festival to create a new theatre show about the future of Australia’s capital city.
Working with scientists from CSIRO, Boho created a game where players guide Canberra through the coming decades, building resilience in anticipation of disasters.
Players formed teams representing suburbs of Canberra, and navigated building a general resilience for the city while ensuring the safety of their residents from specific, local dangers.
This game was performed for a hybrid audience of live and digital players, and run remotely for local schools. For the project, Boho was joined by Canberra performer Miriam Slater.
‘Imaginative, versatile, and too lively to leave a moment alone, Canberra 2060: Futures With a Capital F will stay with you for the unique experience it is as well as for the zany possibilities it explores.’

‘This production, so topical in this year of bushfires, drought, and COVID-19, provides a welcome opportunity to look, through multiple dimensions, at the threats we all face and to recognise the power we have, especially if we cooperate, to minimise them.’
